I have embedded a CNBC video from this morning. This actually makes a little sense.
- Government buys up mortgages for cents on the dollar.
- Government turns becomes the broker for the homeowner.
- Homeowner goes to the bank with reduced mortgage due to decline in home values.
- Bank issues new loan.
- Homeowner gets a new loan on the current value of the house.
Airtime: Thurs. Feb. 26 2009 | 6:50 AM ET Whether the key to the financial mess is to allow Americans to buy their own mortgages at discounted prices, with Lou Brien, DRW Trading Group and CNBC’s Steve Liesman.
